Aquileia has antique origins, since roman times. Evidence of its antiquity are the Patriarch Basilica and numerous archeological discoveries. Visiting the Basilica of Aquileia will make a tourist discover an impressive exhibition: floors covered in antique refined mosaic, the oldest and the largest surface covered with mosaic of those times. Worth to visit are also the archeological digging sites uncovering roman ruins. Another important attraction point is the National Museum of Archeology [National Museum of Archeology], Museum of PaleoChristianity [Museum of Paleo Christianity] and the Patriarch Museum.
